Valentine's day! soon...

I'm here to write about one of my favorite celebrations! ♥VALENTINE'S DAY!♥

I really like valentine's day because we celebrate all the love and the friendship we have. This day we express how much we care for the ones we love, sending letters, flowers, chocolates, gifts, etc.

This special day, celebrated on February 14th, is called Valentine's day to honor a cathololic Priest called Valentine. The legend tells that he served during the third century in Rome. When Emperor Claudius II decided that single men were better soldiers than those that were married and had a family, he outlawed marriage for young men. Valentine, realizing the injustice of this, didn't follow the rules of Claudius and continued performing marriages for young lovers secretly. When Valentine was discovered by Claudius, he was put to death.

According to the legend, Valentine sent the first "valentine"gift himself. because while he was in prision, he fell in love with a girl who visited him. Before his death, he wrote the girl a letter, that he signed "From your Valentine", an expression that is still used today.Isn't this interesting? =)
